There is a big difference between a cheap kids ski and a ski designed to teach proper slalom. The Recess is the latter. If a child is ready to move off combos or trainers, keeping the ski correctly sized and predictable is far more important than buying them an adult model they can 'grow into'.

First single ski. First proper turns. The Recess is built to make that jump feel achievable for younger riders, with a stable, forgiving shape that works at lower speeds and a width matched to the ski's shorter length. It gives kids enough support to learn without turning their first slalom ski into something they immediately outgrow.
