The Barra's strength is that it is easy to own. It is stable enough to teach on, fun enough for returning surfers and tough enough that you are not panicking every time someone sets it down on the boat. For a first wakesurfer, that combination makes a lot of sense.

The Barra is the easy all-round surfer you can leave in the boat and hand to almost anyone. At 4'11", there is enough surface area to make learning the pocket manageable, while the subtle nose rocker helps prevent the classic beginner nosedive and the small swallow tail gives more control once turns start getting deliberate.

Compression-moulded construction makes it far less precious than a high-end EPS surfboard — useful when it is going to live around boards, ropes, kids and swim platforms.
