Towable Tubes

When you’re buying a tube, the real question is simple: will it hold up?

This range here is hand-picked. Not every model from every brand, just the ones we know can handle real family use and keep doing it season after season. If something doesn't prove itself, we don't restock it.

If you want gear that's built to last, this is where you'll find it.

Towable Tubes: What to Know Before You Choose One

Our tube range is hand-picked from brands we trust, including Raptor, KD, Jobe, Testpilot, WOW and Williams. Not every model from every brand, just the ones that have proved themselves season after season.

If you're looking for options that hold up, stay safe at speed and actually last, the guide below breaks down what matters when choosing the right tube for your family.

Build Quality Comes First

Durability is the difference between a tube that lasts years and a tube that deflates halfway through the holidays. Look for heavy-duty PVC bladders, reinforced seams and a nylon cover that won’t tear after a few hard sessions. This is where cheaper tubes literally fall apart.

Everything in this range is made from materials that handle real family use, not just smooth catalogue conditions.

Choosing the Right Size (1-Person, 2-Person, 3-Person)

Obviously you'll need to match the tube size to your crew. Our tip for most people tossing up between a 2 or 3 person is to go bigger - you never know who might come a long for a ride and you don't want someone to be left out of the fun.

The only drawback on the bigger tubes is the extra drag they have, so for smaller boats with less power it might be best to stick with a 1 or 2 person.

And if you're towing with a jet ski, you should also be across local regulations. In some states, the riders out the back count as your tow vehicle capacity which effectively limits jet skis to a 1-person tube.

Deck, Seated, Donut: Which Style Is Best?

Seated tubes are the most stable and confidence-building. These are perfect for kids or more cautious riders.
Deck or lay-down tubes are fast, loose and exciting, but they’re more physical to ride and can tire out younger kids quickly.
Donut-style tubes (seated in a "hole") tend to be a favourite for families because they feel secure at speed.

Handles, Padding and Safety

Good handle placement and soft-touch pads mean happier riders. Poor placement forces awkward grip angles, especially when the boat accelerates.

Everything we stock uses sensible handle layouts and enough padding to keep elbows, knees and hands comfortable; especially on longer runs.

How to Make Your Tube Last Longer

Besides investing in high quality gear that's built to last there's a couple ways you can look after your tube to keep it from wearing too fast.

One of the most common things is over or under inflation. If left in the sun, an over-inflated tube will expand, putting too much tension on seams and stitching and can lead to damage.

Under-inflation can also put too much tension through the seams, but as the tube is being towed rather than unused.

Aim to keep it firm, and keep an eye on where it's stored - especially in the hot Aussie sun. And when you're towing your tube, have a look for any stretching around the tow point in particular - this is the easiest way to spot an under-inflated tube.

Tow Points, Ropes and Setup

All tubes here come with a quick connect tow point. This enables you to easily and quickly attach and detach your tow rope to the tube. It also toughens the tow point up, helping to ensure more durability.

Having the right rope is also vital - Tube Ropes are available to match the capacity of your tube. At each size, you'll notice a significant difference in the thickness of the rope, ensuring it's able to handle the increased drag of larger tubes.

Brands and Warranty Support

Brands like Jobe, Raptor, KD, Testpilot, WOW and Williams all have solid warranty pathways - otherwise they wouldn't make it to our range. If something fails that shouldn’t (rare, but not unheard of), you’re not left dealing with it alone.

We’ve sold tubes for decades, and only keep models that prove themselves season after season. Anything that doesn’t is dropped from our line up.

How to Choose the Right Tube

Start by matching the size to your rider requirements and the style to your confidence level. Focus on durability, real-world handling and tow setup, and you’ll end up with a tube that stays fun and reliable every summer.
