Understanding Life Jacket Levels

Australian life jackets are classified into three main levels:

• Level L50S – Designed for high-performance watersports like waterskiing and wakeboarding, as well as jet skiing, offering a secure fit and excellent mobility.
• Level L50 – Offers the same level of buoyancy as L50, however adds increased visibility for additional safety. In some states L50 is required for jet skiing.
• Level 100+ – Provides the highest buoyancy and is ideal for open waters where rescue may be delayed
